Ever designed a shirt with a neon green that looked amazing on your screen, but printed out looking like a dull avocado? 🥑 We’ve all been there!
Screens (RGB) emit light, while prints (DTF ink) reflect light. This means what you see on your computer isn't always exactly what you get on fabric. That’s where our CrystalDTF 256 Color Chart comes in to save the day!
This chart is your "Color Bible" for ensuring the colors in your design match the colors on your final t-shirt.
🔍 How to Read the Chart
Our chart contains 256 calibrated color swatches. Here is how to decode the numbers in each square:
-
The Top Number (e.g.,
5fff00): This is the HEX Code. This is the most important number! It is the digital DNA of that specific color. -
The Bottom Number (e.g.,
082): This is the Index Number for quick reference within the chart system.
🛠️ How to Use It for Perfect Matching
To guarantee your colors come out exactly how you want them, follow these steps:
-
Reference the Printed Chart: (Ideally, purchase a printed version of this chart from us first). Look at the physical chart to see exactly how our printers handle specific shades on actual film/fabric.
-
Pick Your Swatch: Find the square on the chart that represents the exact color you want for your design.
-
Grab the Hex Code: Look at the top code in that square.
-
Example: If you want that bright electric lime green, find square 082 and note the code 5fff00.
-
-
Update Your Design: Go into your design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc.) and change your color fill to that specific Hex Code (
#5fff00). -
Save & Upload: Save your file and send it to us! Since you used a code from our calibrated chart, our printers will know exactly what color you are aiming for.
đź’ˇ Why This Matters
-
No More Guesswork: You skip the "hope and pray" phase of printing.
-
See the Gamut: This chart shows you the printable range. If a color isn't on this chart, it might be outside the range of what CMYK+White printers can physically produce (like certain super-bright monitor glow effects).
-
Consistent Branding: If you are printing logos for a business, use this to find the closest match to their brand colors and stick with it every time!
